Theological Focus

In the heart of the Lenten journey, we often experience spiritual thirst and the weariness of the road. The journey through the desert is a necessary stage in the formation of a holy people, reminding us that God provides sustenance in the parched places of our lives, turning grumbling into testimony.

Scriptural Connection

Exodus 17 recounts the Israelites’ struggle in the desert and the water flowing from the rock at Horeb. It illustrates God’s patience with a wandering, complaining people and the miraculous provision of life-giving resources in the midst of perceived scarcity, doubt, and the very real threat of spiritual and physical exhaustion.
